People around the world have been dying because of this -- not something to be taken lightly, especially considering the damage it can do to an immune system. It is not just a common cold, or am I wrong...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30601753.post-51276248197583226312009-12-05T10:29:27.284-05:002009-12-05T10:29:27.284-05:00Great: the state's biggest campus has no idea ...Great: the state's biggest campus has no idea how many students and faculty have swine flu. How do they decide when it is too "dangerous" and shut the university down? How do they decide when to tell graduate student teachers when, for miserable pay, they are in the highest risk category for swine flu that "may" be a an alarmingly high level. If nobody is giving out the information, how does anybody know? And we just going to sit back and wait until the powers that be make a decision. They don;t want to shut down the university -- they lose a lot of money. They'll keep it open as long as possible, relying on the fact that nobody has the facts.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30601753.post-11913396413311718672009-11-21T11:47:58.046-05:002009-11-21T11:47:58.046-05:00What purpose will it serve to know how big the out...What purpose will it serve to know how big the outbreak is? If everyone with flu symptoms goes to health services, they'll be overrun and then people who need any other type of medical care will be unable to get it (or won't want to go due to fear of getting the flu if they do). Especially in light of the hours that were cut from the health center this year (formerly open 24 hours, now open 8 a.m. till midnight), there are fewer opportunities to see a provider (and perhaps more spillover into local clinics and hospitals?). Perhaps if there had been money and resources to set up an entirely separate clinic solely for people with flu symptoms, then yes, it would make sense. But in this situation, what do you expect them to do?Kayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10349305595525493538noreply@blogger.com
