Edwards Drops "Race"
Check this yahoo! article that reflects the way (the) race is being covered in other publications as well:
He finished second in the Iowa caucuses that led off the campaign, but he was quickly overshadowed — a white man in a race against the former first lady and a 46-year-old black man, each bent on making history. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080130/ap_on_el_pr/edwards)
Well, well. A white man is "overshadowed" not because he is an inferior public speaker, not because of his lack of credientials, not because of an unsuccesful and unmoving campaign, not because of his dullness... But because he is white and a man. What does Amherst think about this article/view?

I challenge you to cite any facts in that article corroberating your conclusions about why Edwards campaign was unsuccessful.
It is possiblt if not likely that Democrats do not want to continue the class warfare Bush waged on steroids, and that is exactly what Edwards was selling. He wanted to rebalance the table in support of the middle class.
I'm not argueing that case on its merits, I'm simply asserting that your conslusions do not even consider this fundamental aspect of his campaign and whether the American people decided they did not want to sign up for it.
I put Edwards one or two on my list for the primary super Tuesday but not three. Guess I'll have to rethink it.
So me a favor and ignore the typos,if any.

He was playing the "It's unfortunte that I'm not African American or a woman" ticket in a disgusting way. Yeah: your neither: you have benefited from thr system in every way. Get over it. His posiion is/was one of advantage.

Edwards was trying to get the vote of people who want a democrat but fear that a republican will win if
this country is to choose between a republic white man and a democratic woman or African American man. glad he is gone!
